 Black sea bass is a type of grouper that lives in the Atlantic Ocean and can be found from the Gulf of Mexico all the up to Maine. Like many other commercial fisheries, black sea bass stocks face threats of overfishing. They have very large scales that are one of my favorite things to photograph under the microscope.
